HONDA UNICORN , TVS RTR FI, HERO HONDA HUNK

Every one has its own advantage and disadvantages. In short..
Hondo Unicorn is smooth, nice handling but it needs more refinement now to match current competitors in the market.

TVS RTR FI is latest among three and choosing RTR FI is totally subjective ie. if you need something sporty and responsive, RTR is there. Can't say much about its disadvantages as its pretty new and I am yet to see feedback for it.

HONDA hunk is sort of all round fine, good looks and fine engine and competitive too. If you need something balanced then Hero Honda Hunk is the choice as it was already refined and launched after cBZ Xtreme.

Price of RTR FI is 64,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
HUNK costs Rs. 58,000 approx. on Road. (Delhi)
Unicorn costs. approx Rs. 60,400 on Road (Delhi)

cheapest car :: Suzuki Maruti 800

Launched in 1983, the compact Maruti 800 with a 796-cc gasoline engine was the smallest car ever to hit Indian roads. Made by Suzuki Motors in partnership with the Indian government at a plant in Gurgaon, outside New Delhi, the Maruti has been the king of the small-car market. Nobody has been able to beat the four-door, 3.3m long, 650kg. M-800 on price.

With a current price tag of $4,400(app 2 lakh) and up, it was the dream drive for middle-class Indians. Suzuki has done little to tweak the design of the fuel-efficient-15 km a liter (roughly 36 mpg)-vehicle. Maruti has been saying that it’s phasing out the M-800 for some time now.

But with Tata’s $2,200(approximately 1 lakh) car expected in 2008, there’s talk that the M-800 price will be slashed to take on the new competitor. Its clientele has largely been buyers upgrading from two-wheelers. The M-800 is exported to Chile, Egypt, Algeria, Peru, and Nicaragua.

Hyundai Getz

Taking careful aim at the European small-car market, Hyundai had the Getz designed at the company’s European styling studio to ensure the final product met European tastes and needs. In late 2006, Getz production shifted from Korea to India, expanding the role of the Indian subsidiary as Hyundai’s global hub for small cars. Getz exports from India began recently.

The five-seat, five-door hatchback stands 1.5m tall, shorter than the Atos, but the Getz is longer, sporting a wheelbase of 2.5m and an overall length of 3.8m. Power comes from a wide variety of powerplants: The base Indian version is fitted with a 1.4-liter SOHC. Gas-electric hybrid versions of the Getz are available in Korea, while Europeans favor the 1.5-liter diesel. The 1.6-liter DOHC gas engine is the most popular in all other markets. Electronic brake force distribution and dual front and side airbags are among the options. Since the model’s introduction in 2002, more than 863,000 units have been sold.

Getz prices start at $9,400(Rs4,01,474) and max out at $11,700(Rs4,99,707).

The A-Star has been launched in three variants LXi, VXi and ZXi. The ZXi gets all the bells and whistles from ABS, EBD, Rear Defogger to Dual Airbags. Maruti has really made the car look so much value for money that Hyundai won’t find it easy to sell the i10. On paper the A-Star does look very good but we really can’t say much about the A-Star till we drive it.

The A-Star is completely made in India and will be sold worldwide in more then 150 countries. It is the new Alto in the European markets. Mahindra-Kinetic co-branded scooters to be launched later this month

M&M, which bought a controlling stake in the Pune-based two-wheeler manufacturer, Kinetic, in July/August 2008, is now ready to re-launch the Kinetic range of scooters. These vehicles have been revamped and will now be co-branded as Mahindra-Kinetic. These re-branded vehicles will be available in Kinetic showrooms (which will also be revamped and which will now carry new logos) by the end of this month.

Kinetic scooters will still be manufactured at its Pithampur plant (near Indore, in MP) and prices will not change. The range will include the Flyte 125 and Nova 135, though it isn’t clear whether the Blaze will also continue. Fitted with a 170cc engine (originally sourced from Hyosung), the Blaze is India’s biggest, most powerful scooter, but hasn’t been doing too well in the market and may be discontinued.

With its Mahindra-Kinetic products, M&M is said to be looking at focusing on entry-level mass-market two-wheelers to begin with, though it may also develop other products for the ‘lifestyle’ segment later on. In fact, M&M is said to be looking at tying up with a European bike manufacturer for high-end bikes, which it will launch at a later date.
