Tata Motors will deliver first Nano


The bookings for Nano started on April 9 and closed on April 29. Tata Motors received over 2.03 lakh bookings for Nano, garnering nearly Rs 2,500 crore in this period.

Tata Motors announced it would deliver the Nano to its first customer on Friday and  will complete the process of delivering one-lakh cars by the last quarter of 2010. Company currently manufacturing Nano at Pantnagar and it has capacity of manufacturing 50,000 units per year. Company's plant at Sanand in Gujarat will be ready in December and then the capacity can be extended to 2.5 lakh units a year.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has launched the Bolero Maxitruck with the micro hybrid technology. It is priced at Rs. 3.52 lakh, ex-showroom Pune. It comes with the stylish front look of Bolero, eco-friendly and innovative micro-hybrid technology (micro-hybrid technology is based on the simple principle of not burning fuel when it is not required. It automatically detects moments, during the journey, when the vehicle is idle and stops the engine.) for greater fuel efficiency, a 2,500 cc, 61 HP engine. It has a 1-tonne payload and top speed of 100 km/hour and a turning radius of 6.6 m.

Imported high-end bikes sales performance



Imported high-end bikes are launched by Suzuki and Honda recently. These bikes are aimed to a rich people in India. Suzuki which launched Suzuki Hayabusa and Suzuki Intruder in November, 2008, sold around 100 units of super bikes which is priced about 12.5 lakh per unit. Company plans to sell other 100 units.

On the other hand, Honda Motor which has launched CBR1000RR(12.5 lakh) and CB1000R(9.5 lakh), has been able to sell 21 high speed imported bikes, coming at a premium of Rs 12.5 lakh and Rs 9.5 lakh within three months of their launch. Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi and Pune are the important platforms and company plans to sell other 100 units in this fiscal.
