Skoda india is considering a price hike between Rs.10,000/- to Rs.20,000/-on all our cars in the coming month. This rise is being considered due to various Inflationary pressures and increase in raw material costs.
Chevrolet brand, General Motors India has registered a record growth of 65% in sales in November 2009, compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 7,118 units in November against 4,307 units in November last year, making this the highest-ever sales figure achieved in the November month by GM India since its inception. The November 2009 sales comprise of 4,202 units of the Chevrolet Spark, 1,264 units of the Chevrolet Tavera, 524 units of Aveo U-Va, 412 Units of Aveo, 518 units of Chevrolet Cruze, 114 Units of Chevrolet Optra and 84 units of the Chevrolet Captiva.
Tata Motors’ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in November 2009 were 54,108 vehicles, a growth of 65% over 32,696 vehicles sold in November 2008. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for November 2009 were 50,114 nos., a 64% growth over 30,556 nos. sold in November last year. The growth in November 2009 has come over low sales in November 2008, impacted by the downturn in the automobile industry during that period.
Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal at 381,003 nos., recorded a growth of 13% over 338,134 nos. sold last year.
Commercial Vehicles
The company’s sales of commercial vehicles in November 2009 in the domestic market were 29,408 nos., a 81% growth compared to 16,229 vehicles sold in November last year. LCV sales were 16,901 nos., a growth of 62% over November last year. M&HCV sales stood at 12,507 nos., a growth of 116% over November last year.
Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 221,649 nos., a growth of 22% over last year. Cumulative LCV sales are 135,804 nos., a growth of 37% over last year, while M&HCV sales stood at 85,845 nos., a growth of 5% over last year.
Passenger Vehicles
The passenger vehicles business reported a total sale and distribution offtake of 22,671 nos. (20,706 Tata - highest this fiscal + 1,965 Fiat) in the domestic market in November 2009, a 55.2% increase compared to 14,612 nos. (14,327 Tata + 285 Fiat) in November last year. Sales of Tata cars, at 18,480 nos. were the highest this fiscal, and grew by 48% over November 2008. The sales of the Tata Nano were 3,406 nos. with deliveries increasing every month since launch. The Indica range sales were 9,111 nos., a growth of 1% over November last year. The Indigo range recorded its highest ever sales of 5,963 nos., a growth of 71.5% over November last year based on the wide acceptance of the newly launched Manza. The Sumo/Safari range accounted for sales of 2,226 nos., a growth of 23% over November last year.
Jaguar Land Rover sales continued their upward trend since launch in June, with November being the highest since launch.
Cumulative sales and distribution offtake of passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 156,364 nos. (139,285 Tata + 17,079 Fiat), against 132,326 nos. (129,270 Tata + 3,056 Fiat) last year, a growth of 18.2%. Cumulative sales of the Nano are 13,924 nos. Cumulative sales of the Indica range at 75,619 nos., reported a growth of 11%. Cumulative sales of the Indigo family are 29,360 nos., lower by 15.6% but the decline is being substantially reduced over the last two months of the Manza launch. Cumulative sales of the Sumo/Safari range are 20,382 nos., lower by 22.8%.
Exports
The company's sales from exports at 3,994 vehicles in November 2009 registered a growth of 87% compared to 2,140 vehicles in November last year. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 20,069 nos. are lower by 28% over 27,741 nos. in the same period last year.
Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 87, 807 vehicles in November 2009. This includes 11,448 units of exports.
The company had sold 47,704 vehicles in the domestic market in November 2008. November 2008 was exceptionally low sales month, due to impact of economic slowdown.
The 60.1 percent domestic sales growth in November 2009 is calculated on a low base of November 2008 when the industry was in the midst of worst ever slowdown. Compared to November 2007 (65,216 units) Maruti Suzuki’s domestic sales have grown 17.1 percent. Similarly, for the period April-November 2009 (v/s April-November 2007, 4,66,232 units) the domestic sales growth is 18.9 percent.

Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) Ltd., leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, sold 39,555 units during the fiscal year period April-November 09 as against 30,032 units during the same period last year recording an increase of 31.7%.
The company sold 5,125 units in the month of November '09 as against 5,025 units sold during the corresponding month last year recording an increase of 2%.
During the month of November, the third generation Honda City crossed the significant milestone of selling more than 50,000 units in 12 months.
Model wise sales break-up: City: 3856; Civic: 551; Accord: 172; Jazz: 546. There were no dispatches for Honda CR-V during November 09.
Mahindra’s domestic auto sales register 105.1% growth in November 2009 Domestic UV sales grow by 102%
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), a part of the US $6.3 billion Mahindra Group, today announced that its domestic auto sales for the month of November 2009 stand at 21387 units, as against 10430 units in November 2008, an increase of 105.1%.
Total UV sales in November 2009 which includes the Scorpio, the XYLO, the Bolero and Pick-Ups stands at 15193 units as against sales of 7523 units in November 2008, which is a growth of 102%.
Mahindra’s YTD domestic sales stand at 178447 units in November 2009, as against 147300 units for the same period last year.
The company sold a total of 22587 vehicles (Domestic + Exports) in November 2009 as against 11515 vehicles sold in November 2008.
SkodaAuto announced a record growth of 183 % in sales for the month of November 2009 over November 2008. SkodaAuto India’s total sales for November 2009 stood at 1425 units as against 504 units in November, 2008.

TVS Motor Company has posted 23% growth in November 2009, registering total two wheeler sales of 120,844 units against 98,402 units in the corresponding period of the previous year. The company continued to post growth in sales for the eighth consecutive month, registering a cumulative growth of 8% with sales of 989,353 units in the current financial year up to November 2009 against 917,439 units in the same period last year. Domestic sales of the company witnessed a quantum increase in sales positing growth of 38% recording 106,836 units in November 2009 as against 77,491 in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The company's scooter sales grew by 38% posting 25,115 units when compared to 18,210 units in the corresponding period of the previous year. Total motorcycle sales of the company stood at 45,080 units in November 2009 when compared to 45,276 units recorded in November 2008.
Exports recorded sales of 14,008 units of two wheelers in November 2009 as against 20,911 units in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Yamaha Motor has registered growth in sales of 2% during November 2009 as compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 17,055 units in November 2009 as against 16,701 units sold in November last year.
Expressing happiness over Yamaha’s continued strong performance in India, Mr. Yukimine Tsuji, CEO & MD, India Yamaha Motor, said, “We are delighted that our sales have consistently grown throughout the year. Our Fazer, FZ series and R15 continue to receive good response from the customers.”
