Two Wheeler Sales Growth April 2010






Bajaj Auto's April bike sales up by 84 per cent at 276,095 units against 149,733 units in the same month last year. Bajaj's total three-wheeler sales is also up by 98 per cent last month at 37,350 units as against 18,867 units in last year.

India Yamaha Motor has registered growth in sales of 42% during April 2010 as compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 24960 units in April 2010 as against 17576 units sold in April last year. In domestic markets, the company sold 16861 units in April 2010 as compared to 15120 units in the same month last year. The export figures stood at 8,099 units in April 2010 while 2,456 units were exported in April 2009.

Hero Honda Motors continues to post monthly sales of over 3 lakh units. Company registered sales of 3,71,652 units in the month of April, 2010. Hero Honda had sold 3,70,575 two-wheelers in April last year.

TVS registered 28% growth in sales by selling 113,119 units compare to144,689 units in the last year in same month. Motorcycle segment grew by 24% in April 2010 with sales of around 66,000 units compared to 53,235 units in the same month of the previous year. Scooters segment registered growth of 43% from 18,819 units in April 2009 to 26,860 units in the last month.
