The dealers had bought each booking form for Rs 250 and had sold it to customers for Rs 300. But, company insiders think there will be substantial increase in bookings on the last day (Saturday).

Tata spokesperson said, there is no issue on this till now, and if it occur in future, It will be company's internal matter between Dealer and Company, and need not to be commented in public.

The Reasons for less amount of booking are might be,
  • Confusion over the booking procedure

Currently total booking figure of around 2 lakh. It is expected that the Nano would be more successful in the tier II and tier III markets. However, as far as online sales were concerned, Nano was a hit. The Rs 1 lakh car can be booked online through the dedicated portal, carwale.com. The portal had set a target to sell bookings for 10,000 cars and it has achieved that. The Mumbai-based dealer said they are planning to approach Tata Motors to take back the unsold forms. Hero Honda is working on ultra low cost motorcycle, might be priced at around Rs 25,000. Bajaj Auto is also working on a similar machine, which may be manufactured in China. Bajaj’s bike may be sold in the Chinese market as well as other Asian markets, before being launched in India. which one of these best ? yamaha fz16' yamaha fzs' apache rtr 160

    Asked By DEEPAK,

       1.  Yamaha FZ16  ::

    Most recently launched bike from yamaha which is become much more popular due to its sporty international look. Talking about the fz16, it is having 153cc engine and produces 14 bhp power. Its maximum speed is about 132 kmph. It has sporty look as well as the performance. Bike's naked shape is most attracting feature. It is having the effects of R1 in its jeans. The price of FZ16 is around 65,000 Rs. (Mumbai ex-showroom price!!) The speedometer and other indicators are completely digital. And it gives you mileage about 45-50 in normal condition. More...

       2.  Yamaha FZ-S ::

    It is the variant of FZ16. There is not a big difference in power and style. This new bike comes with a “cap” for the head lamp and new stickers. If you dislike the headlamp of fz16 ( saying that it looks ugly! ), Yamaha fz-s takes care of it. No more power in this one. Its upon you, either to choose fz16 or fz-s!!! More...

       3.  Tvs Apache RTR ::

    Apache is the most powerful bike in this segment. It has 160cc engine which produce 16.2 bhp power. the top speed of Apache RTR is 128 kmph. Apache is given very sporty look. It is having the digital speedo. The first 150cc segment bike comes with front and rear disc breaks. Though it has so many extra features from other bikes in its segment, the price of apache is the same as the other bikes. More...

    Personally i advise you to choose fz16 or fz-s, because now that is the only trend in current Indian bike market. Secondly It is Yamaha, will give you performance!

    It depends upon your requirement, if you want more power you may wait for  new Apache RTR 180!!! And if you are satisfied with 150cc engine i advise you to choose Yamaha!!! All you can do is, Go for test drives, feel the power by your own. also inquire the experience of after sale service of existing users.

    Regards,
    Max (Kiran Patel)

    200 Superbikes Sold In 2008

    During the year 2008, nearly 200 superbikes have been sold in India, the first year since the launch of the superbikes by Ducati, Suzuki and Yamaha. Of the total units sold, Yamaha accounts for 107 units, while Ducati sold over 50 units. All the bikes were imported as CBU (Complete Build-up Unit)

    Discerning the growing popularity of superbikes in India, numerous multinational two-wheeler companies like Yamaha, Suzuki Motor Corp., Kawasaki and Ducati are upping its ante on this segment by lining up a series of launches this year. Even Honda recently launched its superbikes - the CBR 1000RR and CB1000R. This year 400-450 superbikes are expected to be sold.

    Suzuki has sold 26 and 29 units of Hayabusa and Intruder (priced at Rs 12.5 lakh each) since its launch in November last year. Yamaha managed to sell 107 units of R1 and MTO1 (Rs 10.5 lakh each) in 2008 as against the target of 50-60 bikes. The company is expecting 100% growth in sales of R1 and MT 01 in 2009 at 107 units.

    According to industry analysts, top-end high performance bikes constitute a super niche segment that is neither dependent too much on finance and nor much impacted by the economic slowdown. Hence, the demand for such bikes is growing in India even when other two-wheeler segments are witnessing a slowdown. In recent years, Pune-based Kinetic Motors which first took the lead with the limited launch of the 250cc, v-twin-powered Hyosung Comet in India back in 2005.

    New Pulsar 180 Upgraded!!

    Bajaj Auto has unvieled the new iteration of the of the Pulsar 180. Bajaj India claims a miniscule rise in power to 17.02PS @ 8500rpm compared to the earlier model’s power output of 16.51PS at the same rpm.

    Thanks to the borrowed swingarm from the 220/Avenger, the kerb weight has gone up to 147kgs from an earlier 143kgs. The wheelbase has also increased by 25mm to 1345mm. The bike has let go of the kick-start option and the rider will have to rely on battery power for ignition.
    Visually, this bike looks strikingly similar to the Pulsar 200 but a trained eye can quickly spot the difference. Bajaj have once again mixed and matched a lot of components from its portfolio to make the 180 appear evn more muscular.

    The exhaust styling remains unchanged though. The bike will be available across all Bajaj showromms by the end of this week. It is likely to retail for around Rs.3,000 more than the previous 180 model.
    Front Suspension: The bike now gets the 37mm fork assembly from the Pulsar 220 and promises more stability in corners. The bottom pipes are finished in matte black unlike the silver used on the 220.
    Steering Tee: The steering tee is lifted straight from the 220’s chasis again. The new 180 also gets the clip-ons from the 220 which should aid handling and wrist comfort to an extent.

    Rear Suspension, Tyre and Sprockets: The swingarm for the new 180 comes from the 220/Avenger and is finished in black. The rear sprocket and the O-ring chain come from the 200. The rear tyre is wider with a 120 section width similar to the 200/220.
    Seating: The outgoing models single step seat unit has been traded in for split seats from the 200/220. The pillion seat gets th same grabrails as the bigger Pulsars.
    Body Panels: While the majority of the body panels remain similar to the outgoing 180, the new bike gets the tank extensions from the 200. The ‘Pulsar’ monogram on the tank is more pronounced with a metallic finish unlike the rubberized one on the 200/220.
    Seating: The outgoing models single step seat unit has been traded in for split seats from the 200/220. The pillion seat gets th same grabrails as the bigger Pulsars.(maxabout)

    Chevrolet Cruze By September 2009

    GM is set to launch its Cruze by the September of this Year. The Cruze is the first GM car to be based on the company’s all-new, global, Delta platform. It’s interior and exterior design was carried out under a multinational team at GM DAT in Korea.

    The car exhibits extremely delightful qualities.  It has unusual double-decker front grille, headlamps, rubber seals around the windows. The chassis of the Cruze is primarily engineered to provide high levels of comfort. The dual cockpit treatment is original and stylish. The quality of materials and finishes is also impressive. The switchgear, steering wheel, stalks and headlamps switch resemble those present in the more expensive Opel Insignia -with a unique impressive audio and climate control layout.

    A huge glovebox, big door bins and excellent centre console storage sit alongside Audi-like air vents, a nicely shaped steering wheel rim and impressive audio system.

    When it is launched in India, the Cruze will come with a choice of a 138bhp 1.8-litre petrol and a 147bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine, with an option of an automatic transmission as well. The 1.8 petrol version is the least desirable of the two -it occasionally stutters and has to be wrung out above 3000rpm before it really begins to move along. It didn’t quite live up to the performance suggested by the figures. (ACI)
