Honda Siel Cars India Ltd. will launch its latest model in India, the Jazz, with a 1.2 L i-VTEC engine which has been specially developed for the Indian Market. The 1.2L i-VTEC engine reflects the company's commitment towards India and its continued focus on bringing in the latest global technology into the country.

The new powertrain is a four - cylinder, 1198 cc engine featuring Programmed Fuel Injection delivering class - leading Power of 90 PS (66 kW) @ 6,200 rpm and Torque of 110 Nm (11.2 kg-m) @ 4800 rpm while giving impressive fuel economy of 16.1 km/l as per ARAI test data. In line with Honda’s mission to reduce its environmental footprint, the new engine is E10 compatible and has Euro IV emission levels.

The i-VTEC regulates the opening of air-fuel intake valves and exhaust valves in accordance with engine speeds. By regulating valve opening to match engine speed, the agile i-VTEC engine adjusts its characteristics to realize both superior power and low fuel consumption. With i-VTEC engine technology, Honda is working to ensure environmental responsibility while delivering driving pleasure.

The development work for this engine was done in Honda R&D centre in Tochigi Japan.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Vice President - Marketing, Honda Siel Cars India Ltd. said “The “Made for India” Jazz engine will provide the perfect balance between good fuel economy and performance. While the engine was developed specially for the Indian market, it has been successfully launched in UK due to its excellent performance.”

Well, Bajaj is upgrading its all pulsars. Bajaj recently launched Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 180.

Bajaj Pulsar 150 get about 0.5 more bhps.
It comes with many cosmetic changes.
The tank is now extended.
The Pulsar 180 gets a slight hike in the power output from current 16.51 PS to 17.02 PS @ 8500 rpm.
New bike increases the wheelbase by 25mm to 1345mm.The bike now gets the 37mm fork.
Steering tee is lifted straight from the 220’s chasis again.
New 180 also gets the clip-ons from the 220 which should aid handling and wrist comfort to an extent.
Pillion seat gets th same grabrails as the bigger Pulsars.
‘Pulsar’ monogram on the petrol tank is metallic instead of the earlier sticker type.

Pulsar 200 is likely to get all features about pulsar 220 including Fi!

Maruti may continue with 800 and omni

Though Tata Nano will affect the market for Maruti's one time favorite car Maruti 800 and Maruti Omni, Maruti suzuki said that they has decided on phasing out its 800 and omni car. They tend to be the two of the most cars for middle class people in india. Company is working on upgraded version of 800 and omni to meet Bharat Stage 4 emission norms. Bharat Stage 4 will be in effect in 2010. Maruti said that decision for phasing out 800 and omni will be taken by marketing division.

Hindustan Motors and Mitsubishi Motors have launched their premium SUV the Montero 09 here today. The Montero 09 is a crowned Dakar rally winner for an unprecedented twelve times.

The exterior of the Montero 09 comes with a refreshingly new chrome-plated front grill making it even more appealing than ever before. This vehicle also has a new seven spoke 17” light alloy wheels which enhances its overall sporty image. The Montero 09 is fitted with Yokahama tubeless radials which enables it to cross rocks, mud, snow and river with ease and is capable of extreme off-roading.

The Montero 09 is available in both automatic as well as manual transmission version and comes in six exhilarating colours. Black Mica, Deep Blue Mica, Sophia White have beige leather interiors which gives it a warm and elegant appeal. Platinum Beige Metallic, Cool Silver Metallic and Red Metallic have black leather interiors giving a cool sporty look.
