Maruti plans 600cc cars to beat Nano

Maruti 800 was used to be the cheapest car in india. Now the place was taken by people car, Tata Nano which cost around 1.25 lack. Now people who prefer Maruti 800 as their dream car, Change view to Tata Nano. Around 2 lack people have applied for Tata Nano.

Maruti is planning to bring out a 660cc car. Maruti is looking to launch its 660cc car to challenge Tata Nano. Suzuki already has 600cc models, such as Cervo Mode and Alto running in Japan. Thus, it’s possibility that Maruti Suzuki could roll out a 660cc car to keep its hold on the small car market of India. (TopNews)

Can this beat the Nano in terms of price and VFM? I don't think so. If Maruti needs to do something, they need to bring in a "new 800" with the retro styling but features and design for the "today's customer"
