rs 8 lakhs is too much for this bike.u will get yamaha r1 2008 for rs 9.3 lakhs on road.r1 is officially sold in india,but not the r6.dont know why,also the company says it has no plans to introduce this bike in india as of now.

well I live in US and have this bike (2007). this motorcycle is too fast. R1 is powerful but R6 is Fast. for 2010 model price is almost $10500 including taxes. I have reached till 165 miles speed on this motorcycle(don't have much strength to go above that).
My experience with this motorcycle is nice shape, good turning ratio(feel safe on cornors) fast and lot of screams from exaust.
someone said ducati is better, well just so you know, I agree but ducatti need more money, isn't it ?
you all should be on the same page, this is 599 cc bike so never compare it with 1000cc (like R1, ninza, CBR 1000). This is the best motorcycle in it's class. also depend on personal taste. I Like both yamaha and honda 600cc.

yamaha r6 is good choice then r1.... price n milage are the main difference... both have awsome looks.. r1 is little bit longer then r6.. i have read in any yamaha site that they are gonna launch r6 in india n the price will be near 6-7 lacs.. n milage will be near about 14-15 km/l.

I dont think yamaha may be having issues to launch r6 in India. Hyosung gt 650 and ninja 650 are already on stands. Yamaha has a major problem with its publication in India. Yamaha r6 is priced around 6 lakhs. I hope if someone gets it and inform us...will be more beneficial
